Archie Wayne Hawkins, 82, of Culpeper passed away on Tuesday, March 18, 2014 at the University of Virginia Medical Center. He was born April 11, 1931 in Brightwood to the late Russell and Ethel Carpenter Hawkins.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Martin Hawkins; a sister, Eunice Carol Hawkins; and a stepson, Kenneth R. Brown, Jr.

He is survived by his stepson, David Brown and his wife, Mary Anne, of Manassas; two grandchildren, Mary Victoria Fox and her husband Jay of Front Royal, and Elizabeth Martin Brown, of Manassas; a brother, Winfrey Hawkins of Louisiana; a sister, Edith H. Clatterbuck of Brightwood; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Hawkins was a member of Stevensburg Baptist Church. He was also a member of the Lignum Ruritan Club, and VFW Post 2524.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 23, 2014 6 to 8 pm at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel, 850 Sperryville Pike, Culpeper, VA 22701.

A funeral service was held on Monday, March 24, at 11 am at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Phillip Walker officiating. Interment followed in Culpeper National Cemetery.
