The Jefferson Ruritan Foundation together with the Jefferson (VA) Ruritan Club will hold its 30th Annual Scholarship Groundhog Day Pancake & Sausage Supper from 5-7pm on Sat., Feb. 4, at the Jeffersonton Community Center, 5073 Jeffersonton Rd., Jeffersonton (Rts. 802 & 621 off Rt. 229). Menu will include All-you-can-eat pancakes, famous Tom Calhoun’s sausage, fried apples, coffee, tea etc. Cost for the supper is Adults – $6.95, Children under age 10 – $3.95. Carry-out will be available! All Proceeds to annual Scholarships for local college bound students. Sponsored by the Jefferson Ruritan Foundation of Culpeper, Inc. IRS certified 501c3 non-profit. At their July 2016 meeting and annual scholarship awards ceremony held in the Jeffersonton Community Center, the Jefferson (VA) Ruritan Club and the Jefferson Foundation of Culpeper awarded the Thomas Rosenberger Memorial Scholarship for $1000 to Caroline Steimel of Jeffersonton and the Allen Ellett Memorial Scholarship for $1000 to Shana McMeans, of Culpeper. Caroline is attending James Madison University and Shana is attending Shenandoah University.


Fluvanna County Ruritan Club News

Florence Bakke, Roman Bakke, Dick Eaton, and Jim Tew of the Fluvanna County Ruritan Club have been busy fund-raising this summer at the Fridays after Five series at the Sprint Pavillion in Charlottesville by selling soft drinks.

Earlier in the year, the Fluvanna County Ruritan Club awarded two scholarships to college-bound graduating seniors from Fluvanna County High School. The Howard Cook Award for Citizenship in the amount of $250 was awarded to Eleanor Sechler, and the Fluvanna Ruritan Scholarship in the amount of $1,000 was awarded to Elisha Nicholas. The scholarships were awarded in May.


Annual Youth Recognition Night at Salem Ruritan Club Being Held

Recognition Award (free clip art)Salem Ruritan Club is having their annual Youth Recognition Awards Night at 6:30pm April 12, 2016 at the New Salem Baptist Church. Elementary school students have been chosen by their school administration for personal as well as academic achievement this year.
