Ronald Trent Toms, 87, of North Garden, VA, passed away on Sunday, May 12, 2019. He was born on December 12, 1931 on the family farm in Hungrytown (Covesville), Virginia. He is the son of the late John Bland Toms and Dultry Deane (Mawyer) Toms. He was predeceased by a brother, John Bland Toms Jr.
Mr. Toms was a member of the Hinton Avenue United Methodist Church in Charlottesville, VA. He had also worked for Stromberg Carlson/ Comdial for over 40 years.
Survivors include his loving wife of 65 years, Shirley Bennington Toms; son, Roger T. Toms; nephew, John B. Toms (Shirley); sister-in-law, Doris B. Toms.
The family would like to extend a very special thank you to the Legacy Hospice caregivers Diane, Barbara, Faith, and Allison for their kindness and support.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, May 15, 2019, at 1p.m., at Hill and Wood Funeral home, with Rev. Robert Lewis officiating. Burial will follow at Mooreland Baptist Church Cemetery in North Garden, VA. A reception will follow at the church social hall.
