Paul Richard Carder Sr., 79, of Unionville passed away Saturday, Jan. 3, 2015, at his home.
Paul is survived by his wife, Dorothy Grace Carder; daughter Sandra J. Burgess; two sons, Paul R. Carder Jr. and wife Jacquelyn F. Carder and Mark A. Carder and wife Kimberly A. Carder; seven grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren. He is also survived by two sisters, Mary Catherine Jones and Doris Carpenter and husband Harry Carpenter; and an aunt, Jane Schumacher of Warrenton.
He served in the Army National Guard and also worked for Safeway for 25 years. Paul was a member of Unionville Christian Church and the East Orange Ruritan Club.
A visitation will be held from 10:30 a.m. to noon Thursday, Jan. 8, at Unionville Christian Church, with a funeral beginning at noon, officiated by minister Michael E. Jackson. Interment will follow at the church cemetery. A reception will then follow at the church.
