Lawrence McDaniel, 98, passed away on Friday, January 23, 2015 at Martha Jefferson Hospital.Lawrence was born on March 28, 1916 in Madison County to the late John Allen McDaniel and Lillie Davis McDaniel. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Cole McDaniel; brothers, Harry H. McDaniel, Smith S. McDaniel, Henry E. McDaniel; and sisters, Anna Frances Lohr, Eunice G. Anderson. He is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
Lawrence was a member of Rose Park United Methodist Church, Wolftown Ruritan Club, and the CCC Alumni.
Lawrence was a lifelong farmer. He gave much pride to working in his vegetable garden which was abundant with goods in which he got great pleasure in giving to others. He loved children, playing bridge, traveling, and watching sports. Lawrence was hard working, committed to his church, and valued his family and friends. Lawrence warmly touched the lives of many.
Funeral services were held 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015, at Preddy Funeral Home Chapel in Madison with interment at Rose Park Cemetery. The Reverend Phillip Hunsicker officiated.The family received friends from 6 until 8 p.m. Tuesday evening, January 27, 2015 at the funeral home.
