Obituary from the TheRichmond.com website:

Lloyd, Kenneth Davis, 70, of Montpelier, Va., died peacefully at his home, surrounded by his family on Monday, July 6, 2015, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Kenneth is survived by his wife of 50 years, Monica; daughter, Michelle (Denny) Walsh; and grandchildren, Daniel, Allen, Scott and Susan; son, Wayne (Maria) Lloyd; and grandchildren, Carter, Bennett and Edward; sisters, Janet Colgin and Ruth (Pete) Massengill; mother-in-law, Mae Callaham; and many loving nieces, nephews and extended family. He was preceded in death by his father,Walter Ray Lloyd; mother, Mildred C. Lloyd; and grandson, Evan Garratt Walsh.

Kenneth was born on January 22, 1945 in Louisa, Va. and grew up on the family farm, helping to raise the tobacco and eggs that helped his family pay the bills. Kenneth graduated from Louisa High School in 1963 and after marrying Monica in 1965, moved for a short time to Richmond, VA. There, Kenneth sold automobiles before starting his career with RF&P (CSX) Railroad, where he was to work for 37 years until retirement. Shortly after joining the railroad, Kenneth and Monica moved their new family to a 1910 farmhouse located not far from his childhood home. The home was and continues to be a place always filled with the love and company of friends, neighbors and family.

After retirement, Kenneth truly loved working his ‘Peaceful View’ homestead. He planted his flowers, worked on his tractor, kept his huge yard neatly mowed and trimmed and, of course, nurtured his famous watermelon patch.

Ever a fan and collector of antiques, Kenneth enjoyed attending auctions, whether to buy inventory for his wife’s antique shop, to find unique treasures to research and resell online, or to add to his personal collections of tobacco tins, pocket knives and antique marbles. Kenneth was always there to help his many friends, and he loved going to his daily coffee/breakfast to swap stories and share a laugh or two with them.

Kenneth was a loving father, husband, grandfather and friend to all. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, July 10, at Lacy Funeral Home, 6273 Cross County Rd., Mineral, Va. 23117, and where funeral services for Kenneth will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, July 11, 2015.
