Joyce Ann White Elliott, 82, of Palmyra, Va., passed away peacefully on August 17, 2021. She was born on September 14, 1938, at Martha Jefferson Hospital in Charlottesville, Va., to her late parents, Wilson Lee White Jr. and Mary King White.

She was raised in Madison Heights, Va., and graduated from Madison Heights High School in Amherst County and attended Phillips Business College in Lynchburg, Va. Joyce was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Elliott Sr. and sister, Mary Lee Russell.

She is survived by her sons, Bobby Elliott Jr. (Robin) of Sharps, Va., Gary Elliott (Jerri) of Palmyra, Va., and Steven Elliott of Palmyra, Va.; daughter, Dr. Deborah Wyne (Martin) of Front Royal, Va.; sister, Faye Kern (Tim) of Clearwater, Fla.; her aunt, Dot White of Amherst, Va.; grandchildren, Jonathan Elliott, Dustin Elliott, Katlyn Turley, Nikki Dymczynski, Matthew Wyne, Mallory Goodwin, Rebecca Covington, and Richard Covington; great-grandchildren, Blake Elliott, Maci Elliott, and Mason Wyne; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Joyce was a long-time member of Salem United Methodist Church and a member of the Three Chopt Ruritan Club. She retired from the Fluvanna County Treasurer’s Office.

The family will receive friends from 4 until 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 21, 2021, at Sheridan Funeral Home in Kents Store, Va. A funeral will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Salem United Methodist Church in Palmyra, Va. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Salem United Methodist Church Cemetery Association, 855 Deerfield Road, Louisa, VA 23093.
