Eddie Luther Floyd “Ed” went to his Heavenly home on Sunday morning, July 6, 2014. He was 87 years old. Born in Amherst County, on December 3, 1926, he was the son of Stewart
and Eleanor Floyd. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Doris; one sister, Lois Shrader of Amherst; and four nieces.
Ed worked for English Construction for 53 years as a Project Superintendent. He was a member of Laurel Hill Baptist Church where he greeted people at the front door for years and loved every minute of it. He was a member of the Earlysville VFW Post 2044, the Albemarle Ruritan Club and the American Legion.
Funeral services will be conducted 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014, at the Laurel Hill Baptist Church with the Reverend Bruce Goldsmith officiating. Interment will follow at Holly Memorial Gardens. The family will greet friends from 10:30 until 11 a.m. before the service at the church. A luncheon will follow the interment service at Laurel Hill Baptist Church.
