BELL, Braxton Gordon, 83, of Midlothian, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 11, 2018. He was preceded in death by his parents, George and Ginny Bell; and a sister, Helen Marie Bell. He is survived by his loving wife, Shirley Cox Bell; two daughters, Patricia Bell Harlow (Terry) and V. Carolyn Bell Blair (John); grandchildren, Jessica Harlow, Cody, Ethan, Kensey and Koda Blair.

He was a retired Captain of the Virginia State Police, was a past President of Ruritan National and member of Downing Ruritan Club, attended Virginia Tech, was a member of Masonic Lodge of Franklin, and a member of Portsmouth Scottish Rite.

Braxton was very active in raising money for Hunters for the Hungry, and was a past President of the Homeville Hunt Club.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, March 15, at the Chesterfield Chapel of Bennett Funeral Home, 14301 Ashbrook Pkwy., where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday, March 16. Entombment will follow in Dale Memorial Park. The family suggests donations be made in his honor to Hunters for the Hungry at www.h4hungry.org.
