Bernard F. White, Jr., 75, of Mineral went to be with the Lord Thursday, December 7, 2017.

Bernie retired after 32 years of service as a civil engineer with the Department of the Navy Sea Bees. He was a board member of LACA; president of Belmont Ruritan Club; an active member at Mineral Baptist Church, and member of the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department Company 9 Auxiliary.

Bernie is survived by his wife of 50 years, Gail; three children, Kathy Bacon and her husband, Scott, Christopher White and his fiancé, Chawn, and Ginger White; nine grandchildren, Bradley, Gregory, Wesley, Anna, Daniel, Amber, Holly, Nate, and Rylan; and two brothers, Raymond John White and his wife Helena, and Ron White and his wife, Sylvia.

He was preceded in death by his sister, Malia Bernadette White.

Bernie’s family will receive friends from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 15, 2017 at Mineral Baptist Church, 51 Louisa Ave, Mineral, where a funeral service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in Mineral Baptist Church Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, Bernie’s family requests that expressions of sympathy take the form of donations to the Spotsylvania Volunteer Fire Department, Company 9 Auxiliary, 7100 Belmont Road, Mineral, VA 23117 or Mineral Baptist Church’s Youth Fund, 51 Louisa Ave, Mineral VA 23117.
