Michael Grayland Wood, 67 of Zion Crossroads, died Monday October 9, 2023, at his residence.
Born on April 9, 1956, in Louisa, he was the son of the late William Russell Wood and Virginia Barlow Wood. He was also preceded in death by a brother, Wayne Wood.
He is survived by his wife, Linda Herring Wood of Zion Crossroads; his daughter, Nicole Brook Wood of Mineral; Glenn Smith whom he considered a son; two brothers, Robert “Trigger” Wood of Beaverdam, David Wood of North Carolina; one sister, Linda Lacey and husband Bodie of Louisa County; three grandchildren, Kensley Bryce Nicole Smith, Riely McKinley Brook Smith, Braeden Michael Glenn Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends.
Mike was retired from North Anna where he worked for 39 years. He was an active member of the Holly Grove Ruritans Club.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday October 15, 2023, at Mineral Baptist Church with interment to follow in Spring Grove Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 3 p.m. to 5 p.m. on Saturday, October 14, 2023, at Preddy Funeral Home in Gordonsville.
