Marvenia Zidzik, 72, affectionately known as “Marv,” passed away on Friday January 6, 2023. She was born on July 11, 1950 in Notomine, WV.
Marv is survived by her loving husband, John A. Zidzik; daughters Jennifer M. Zidzik of Richmond, VA, Kristina (James) Zidzik Wright of Jarratt, VA, Jacquelyn S. Zidzik of Virginia Beach, VA; grandchildren Kendall, Justin, and Carleigh Wright of Jarratt, VA; sister Carolyn Dickens; brothers Paul Cooper and Randy Dickerson; and her loving feline companion Remmie.
After graduating nursing school, Marv worked at Mary Washington Hospital in Fredericksburg, VA for over 20 years until her retirement. She was also a member of the Orange County Volunteer Rescue Squad for 8 years, and an active member of the East Orange Ruritan Club.
A service will be held at 12 p.m. on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at Johnson Funeral Home, Locust Grove, with a visitation to be held one hour prior to the service. Interment to follow at Quantico National Cemetery, Triangle, Va.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that contributions be made to the East Orange Ruritan Club (24124 Constitution Highway Unionville, VA 22567), or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
