David “Lloyd” Hicks, age 84, passed away peacefully in his home after a rapid decline in health. He is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Patricia Ware Hicks; and many nieces and nephews.
While stationed in Germany, Lloyd served in the 529th MP from 1961 to 1963. He was the owner of Lloyd’s Furniture and Appliances, a sales agent for Life of Georgia Insurance and closed his career as a Louisa County school bus driver of 15 years.
He lived life to the fullest through volunteer service as a charter member of Holly Grove Rescue Squad and a charter member of Holly Grove Ruritan Club.
Family, friends and others whose lives Lloyd touched are invited to a memorial service held at the Holly Grove Ruritan Club on December 31, 2022, with visitation at 2 p.m. and service beginning at 2:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation be made, in honor of Lloyd, to the Holly Grove Rescue Squad, 155 Factory Mill Road, Bumpass, Va. 23024, or the Holly Grove Ruritan Club, P.O. Box 102, Gum Spring, Va. 23065.
