Ruritans donate volleyball court to Greene County
Ruritans Randy Garrison, Andrea Wilkinson and Joanne and Bob Burkholder, Greene County Parks and Recreation Director Julius Bates, Greene County Ruritans Carl Schmitt and Tom Dean, along with Greene County Administrator John Barkley, are present as the Ruritans hand over the volleyball court at the Greene County Community Park to the county of Greene.
The Ruritans spent about $1,200 installing the heavy-duty wooden posts and volleyball net, which can be moved up or down to accommodate different heights and ages.
The volleyball court is open for public use. Bates said if there’s enough interest, Greene County Parks and Recreation will hold volleyball leagues in the future.
